Community Audition for BTC's Snow White

We are thrilled to share that Ballet Theatre Company will be returning to The Bushnell's Maxwell M. & Ruth R. Belding Theater for Snow White with performances April 19-21, 2024. BTC is proud to offer local student dancers the incredible opportunity of dancing in a professional production alongside BTC's resident dancers and acclaimed guest artists.

About Snow White Audition

Community auditions for BTC’s Snow White will take place on Sunday, January 14th at BTC’s Studios located at 20 Jefferson Ave, West Hartford. Audition times are listed below. Dancers currently enrolled in The School of Ballet Theatre Company are asked to follow the times for their appropriate level regardless of their age. Dancers not currently enrolled are asked to follow the times for the appropriate age ranges. 

SBTC students placed in Primary Ballet I and up are eligible to audition. Community dancers ages 8+ are eligible to audition.

Auditions for pointe roles in BTC's Season 25 main-stage performances will only be open to dancers accepted into BTC's Jr. Corps de Ballet. There will not be a community audition for pointe roles. 

Pre-Audition Registration

All dancers interested must pre-register in order to audition.

Registration is now closed. We look forward to seeing registered dancers at the audition!

On-Site Audition Registration

Dancers should plan to arrive 30 minutes (and no sooner) prior to the start of their audition time. Dancers should enter through the SBTC parent/student lobby, where they will check in and receive their audition number. After the initial check-in, dancers will have their measurements & headshots taken. They will then be directed to an area to warm-up and prepare for the audition.

In addition to submitting a completed online pre-registration form, all auditionees must provide/complete the following onsite before entering the audition room:

1. $25 audition fee (cash, check, or credit card)
2. Checks can be made payable to Ballet Theatre Company
3. To pay with a credit card, please visit the BTC Square Site

Audition Attire 

Females are to wear their hair in a high bun with no part and no stray hairs or bangs in their face, pink/flesh colored tights, pink/flesh colored ballet shoes, and either a black leotard for dancers not enrolled in The School of Ballet Theatre Company (SBTC), or the appropriate assigned colored leotard for students enrolled in SBTC. All dance attire should be free of holes or snags and absolutely no jewelry or other accessories that could act as a distraction are to be worn in the audition room. 

Males are to wear black tights or leggings with black ballet shoes and a white t-shirt or tank top. Hair should be neatly combed or pulled back away from the face. No watches, necklaces or other accessories are to be worn in the audition room.
