A performance by renowned ballet troupe the Ballet Theatre Company, featuring the choreography of Artistic Director Roman Baca, a US Marine Iraq War Veteran. Mr. Baca's work educates audiences about the reality of war, advocates diversity and mutual understanding through cultural exchange, and champions the humanity and dignity of all persons. November 10th will feature a performance in the Center for Contemporary Culture, followed by a discussion and audience Q&A.
Admission is free.
This performance made possible through a Hartford Events Grant by the Greater Hartford Arts Council, and the support of the Hartford Public Library and Connecticut Public Library system.

Narrate your November with a very special Veterans’ Day Family Day. At 11 a.m., master storyteller Tom Lee brings the CT Storytelling Center’s Tellabration to the Museum, bringing artworks to life with captivating tales. The Art Studios open at noon where you can stop by to make a story stone with Museum educators. At 1 p.m., New York’s Exit 12 Dance Company and West Hartford’s Ballet Theatre Company will perform an original ballet that tells of the trauma of war, and the healing that can be found in the arts, through the eyes of a military veteran. Poetry, music, and dance will illuminate this touching story in a performance suitable for all ages.

Share in the commitment to honor our veterans as soldiers and as a creative force transforming the arts in America, especially post 9/11 veterans who consider art-making and creative expression a continuation of, rather than a release from service.
Performers will include Phil Klay, author of "Redeployment", Exit 12 Dance Company with Roman Baca, and the Veteran Home Front Theater.
A Celebration of Veteran Artists will be hosted by Rock'n Roll Hall of Famers Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth of the Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, produced by Rodgers Frantz of the Veteran Artist Program.
