Jasmine Urban, Winter Fairy
Born and raised in Dover, Delaware, young Urban began dancing at a local dance studio in her hometown. She continued her dance studies, focusing more deeply in ballet, at a performing arts school where she trained with Teresa Emmons and attended many master classes with First State Ballet, Colby Damon, Nicole Hammond and Silas Farley. She has had many opportunities to perform ballet classics such as La Bayadere, Paquita, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, and Les Syphide as well as perform as a guest dancer with First State Ballet’s Swan Lake and Vivid Ballet’s Swan Lake and Messiah. She has also had the opportunity to compete in the annual YAGP competition for three years.
Currently attending University of Hartford’s Hartt School, Urban is working towards a BFA in ballet pedagogy and dance performance and was the proud recipient of the 2017 Elena DeVecchio Rusnak Dance Education Scholarship. In her free time Urban likes to teach and bake sweets. In the future she hopes to dance professionally and continue to teach the students of tomorrow.
