After her children were born, she left the corporate life to become a Television Production Assistant and Instructor at Nutmeg Community Television. She was a freelance contributor and photographer for The Patch, as well as a Supervisor at Consignment Originals-Cheshire where she assisted the store manager with daily operations, floor-set designs, customer relations, and managed the store's social media.
Michele was elected Vice President of Gaffney Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Association, then became an in-house volunteer at Griswold Elementary School. She served as the Chairman of the Board at the Cooperative Nursery School of New Britain where she later joined their staff as the lead Pre-Kindergarten Teacher. Her passion in the classroom continued when she worked as a substitute in the Berlin School District, and she is currently employed by the Plainville Community School District.
Michele is also currently involved with Berlin Upbeat, a comprehensive school and community-based character development and leadership training program that encourages the youth of Berlin to develop sound decision making skills and to provide opportunities for positive community involvement and service.
Michele’s hobbies include yoga, dance, organic gardening, digital photography, and observing the wonders of nature. She is an advocate of the arts, eco-friendly consumerism, international cultures, and supports animal rescue organizations such as ReGAP (Retired Greyhounds As Pets). Michele lives in Berlin and shares her home with a menagerie of pets, husband Michael, son Mason, and daughter Margot who has been a student at Ballet Theatre Company since 2008.
