Ms. Dattellas is an accomplished professional dancer, choreographer and teacher. Most recently she was the Ballet Mistress and Company Manger of the Syracuse City Ballet where not only she staged major ballets such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White, and The Nutrcracker, but assisted the Artistic Director, Kathleen Rathbun, in expanding the company’s seasonal repertoire and mission. She has worked with professional dancers from companies all over the country including; New York City Ballet, ABT, Pennsylvania Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, as well as dancers who are now featured on Broadway. In 2014, she directed and introduced a new performance to Syracuse City Ballet's season, An Intimate Evening with SCB, which promoted contemporary and premiere works, some of which Ms. Dattellas choreographed.
Noted for her work as Outreach Director, Ms. Dattellas developed the company’s community youth outreach program by partnering with the Syracuse City School District and Elmcrest Children’s Center. She visited hundreds of children and young adolescents yearly, teaching them the both the basics of ballet and the benefit of this beautiful art form.
As a respected choreographer out in the community, Ms. Dattellas has been commissioned to create major works for Syracuse City Ballet, Rochester City Ballet, Waxworks, Shakespeare Festivals, Vision of Sound Series, Fringe Festival, Syracuse University, Adelphi University, Brockport's Dance Department, and many, many more. In 2015, Stephanie choreographed Red House Theater’s spring musical, Carousel, which received a nomination as ‘Choreographer of the Year’.
As a teacher, Ms. Dattellas has in-depth experience developing young dancers’ technique, strength and artistry. Ms Dattellas has experience teaching dancers ages 3 to adult in various dance styles such as Ballet, Pointe, Variation, Contemporary, Modern and Jazz. She is recognized in any studio through her charismatic and loud voice, and is equally defined by her exciting energy.
