At BTC, we believe that all children deserve the opportunity to experience the positive impact of the arts. Through our programming, we strive to reach as many un derserved children as possible through dance classes, opportunities to attend professional-caliber live performance, and much more. We believe that these opportunities are crucial in developing well-rounded human beings who become critical thinkers, develop curious minds, and lead more productive lives. The goal of BTC’s CEP is not to produce professional dancers, but to inspire, nurture and encourage children by providing them opportunities to forge a life-long, personal connection to the arts.
Dance has been proven to help restore joy and stability in troubled lives, ease tensions in school or homes that are disrupted by violence and bullying, improve test scores and focus, and provide a safe place for self-expression. Students that participate in dance classes develop self-confidence, creative problem-solving skills, body/spatial awareness, discipline, and many other positive skills that follow them long after the conclusion of each session.
Studies show that children thrive when provided with discipline and an opportunity to participate in activities that challenge them in a supportive, encouraging and nurturing environment, and each of BTC's outreach programs strive to provide this opportunity.
