Keith Reeves is a dynamic dancer, choreographer, and emerging force in the world of ballet. Hailing from Augusta, he began his training at the Jessye Norman School of the Arts and quickly found his passion for the art form. Under the guidance of Zanne and Ron Colton at the renowned Colton Ballet, Keith honed his skills and developed a deep appreciation for the beauty and athleticism of ballet.
Throughout his career, Keith has been recognized for his exceptional talent and has been awarded scholarships to esteemed summer programs, including the Nashville, Joffrey Ballet School, and The School at Jacob’s Pillow. In 2015, he was granted the prestigious Audrey B. Morgan Scholarship for the Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education Conservatory program, which marked the beginning of his journey with the renowned Atlanta Ballet.
As a member of the Atlanta Ballet, Keith has had the privilege of performing breathtaking works by an array of esteemed choreographers, including Jiri Kylian, Salvatore Aiello, George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin, Dwight Roden, and Mark Morris, among many others. Notably, he collaborated with Atlanta Ballet's resident choreographer, Claudia Shrieier, on a mesmerizing solo for The Guggenheim WPA Virtual commission titled "Force of Habit."
Keith's talent and artistry have not gone unnoticed in the industry. He was recently featured in the March 2021 edition of InStyle Magazine's "Black Trailblazers of Atlanta," further solidifying his rising star status. Additionally, his choreographic journey has taken off, with notable works created for both the Atlanta Ballet's 2nd Company and Main company from 2016 to 2021.
In 2022, Keith had the privilege of working as a guest artist with Complexions Contemporary Ballet Company for their fall and winter season. This collaborative opportunity allowed him to explore his creativity and push the boundaries of his artistry. He also debuted a new work at The Gibney Theatre in New York City in March, captivating audiences with his unique vision and innovative choreography.
With his incredible talent, unwavering dedication, and passion for both performance and choreography, Keith Justin Reeves is poised to continue making waves in the ballet world. Keep an eye out for this rising star as he continues to push the boundaries.
